I left just before sunrise and headed west on my favorite highway. There was a dried lake bed to my south, glowing white as the sun came up and a mountain range growing in front of me as I approached. I stopped just for a moment as the sun was coming up to take a few photos. I drove in silence for most of the day– no music or podcasts. And, for hundreds of miles, not even another car. The silence and solitude made the scenes of the Western Desert bigger, more dramatic, if that’s possible.
I love my house. It’s a lovely little house. But here, on the road is where I feel most at home. There is so much to do, so much to see… Perhaps I’ll see you out here somewhere.
